Women's All Day Bible Study - Book of Ruth

The house is empty but ready to receive 13 women for Bible study.
Most of these women live on the compound and attend a bi-monthly study at our home.
This was a special day - all day study in the book of Ruth

The entrance is inviting

Soon the house begins to fill with women who are always ready to engage in conversation...

...and who are eager to study the Word together

...and to pray together.

We thank God for the available "worship and conversation" space at our home

As a result of a generous donor friend from the States,
the ladies were able to experience pedicures, while they and still engaged in Bible study

Over half of the ladies had never had a pedicure.
It was great to watch and listen to them while we studied.

The finished products...where is Janice's foot?

All Day Bible Study Group - (Ruth)

Eight women are signed up for a two-day study on Spiritual Disciplines.
We will go away for this study/practice.
Photos of that time will be posted in July.

Giraffe Kisses

I don't think that it is such a good idea, but our Dutch friend Janneke decide to kiss a giraffe on her visit to the Giraffe Center here in Nairobi. If you ever visit us, perhaps you can try the same....on second thought, maybe not.

My Tea Party

A tea party was hosted at the Howard's Happy Home for 5 young girls while they were on their school break. The afternoon activities included cookie baking (first time), invitation creating (for Mothers and Aunties), cookie decorating, sandwich making, table setting, and party going. The girls arrived in their beautiful white frilly dresses.

By the time the mothers arrived, the girls were excited and well versed in how to hold their china teacup and where to place their cloth napkin.

The most fun was had by me as I watched each of them. I loved it!

Later the girls stayed to watch Happy Feet. I don't understand how these English speaking girls can watch a movie in English and speak in Swahili - they are too smart for me!

Enjoy the photos...
